Originally from Mexico, Ricky was raised in a small town in eastern Washington and moved to Seattle during high school. His professional career has spanned early childhood education, computer science, and the hospitality industry. Ricky is a fully accredited software developer, having studied at the University of Washington. He also has extensive experience in public policy advocacy. Most notably, his recovery journey was the driving force behind Ricky’s Law, passed in 2016, which is one of the largest single investments in substance use disorder treatment in Washington state history. Outside of work, Ricky enjoys the outdoors, photography, and spending time with his family, his loving partner, Kelsey, and his two pets, Otis and Cory.
