Being a Member Café within the Network means you’re not doing this alone.

RCN Member Cafés are part of a growing national network of healing communities, offering long-term recovery support. 

As a Member Café, you are entrusted with a social license to implement the Recovery Café Model. This includes access to proprietary trainings, tools, and templates, developed over 20+ years of experience by the original Recovery Café and the Network. You also receive dedicated support from RCN staff every step of the way.

In addition, you are welcomed into a vibrant Network of peer Cafés across the U.S. and beyond—where knowledge is shared, relationships are nurtured, and collective impact grows through collaboration, peer learning, and mutual support.

Training

  • RCN’s
    Learning Series

    Live sessions offered twice a year and on-demand recordings, covering the Recovery Café Model, nonprofit fundamentals, fundraising, and more.

  • Immersion
    Visit

    A 1–2 day Immersion Visit for up to five team members at a Recovery Café to experience the Model firsthand.

  • Access to
    the RCN Hub

    Our proprietary online learning platform, with up-to-date training materials for all current and future staff.

  • Special offers
    on external trainings

    Special offers on external trainings and certifications throughout the year, such as recovery coaching and related professional development opportunities.

  • Use of
    AGENCY

    A required data management platform customized for implementing the Model (valued at $2,000+/year).

    Regular updates on Model innovations and best practices from across the Network.

    Monthly cohort check-ins with other peer Member Cafés during your first year as an Emerging Member.

    for AGENCY

    Ongoing technical support for AGENCY (including monthly Office Hours) and collaboration on monitoring and evaluation to track your Café’s impact.

    Recognition as an Emerging or Full Member Café in RCN’s national materials and website, with use of the Member Stamp for your communications and fundraising.

    Support Calls

    Optional groups for focused peer support learning, such as Leader Circles, Program and Operations Support Circles, and Boost Calls for Recovery Café staff.

  • Invitation to RCN Rendezvous

    Invitation to RCN Rendezvous, a biennial all-Network conference with hundreds of other Café leaders from around the U.S. and beyond.

  • A monthly internal newsletter

    A monthly internal newsletter, exclusive to Member Cafés, featuring resources, stories, and upcoming opportunities.

  • Monthly cohort
    check-ins

    Access to the RCN Member Café Directory and community Bulletin Board for peer learning and collaboration, with facilitated introductions to other Cafés for regional partnership or topic-specific knowledge exchange.

  • Six annual Commitment Coffee Hours

    Six annual Commitment Coffee Hours focused on deepening alignment with the Core Commitments and advancing DEI practices, along with opportunities to participate in the Network’s DEI Committee.

Full Membership: Expanded Support and Leadership

Full Membership reflects your Café’s maturity, operational strength, and sustained commitment to the Recovery Café Model—and comes with expanded support, responsibilities, and opportunities to lead within the Network, such as:

  • Eligibility to implement additional program offerings, such as youth-focused initiatives—along with the training, templates, and resources needed to do so with fidelity.
  • Access to a monthly Program and Operations Support Circle 
  • As-needed 1:1 check-ins with RCN staff to support your growth and challenges
  • Invitations to host webinars, contribute to in-person trainings, and present at the biennial RCN Rendezvous
  • Opportunities to mentor and share your insights with Emerging Member Cafés and groups exploring the Model

Full Membership is both a recognition of your Café’s dedication and experience, as well as an invitation to shape the future of the Recovery Café movement.

Membership Dues

Membership dues are a nominal but meaningful investment each Café makes annually to sustain our Network. While these dues help offset some of the costs of training and support, they cover only a fraction of what it takes to walk alongside each Café, year after year. 

We see these dues as a tangible expression of our shared commitment to uphold the Model with integrity and to nurture a sustainable network of healing communities across the U.S. and beyond. 

For Emerging Member Cafés, membership dues are $5,000 per year. During the application process, you may request a scholarship to reduce this to $2,500 per year.

For Full Member Cafés, membership dues are calculated on a sliding scale from $1,000-$5,000 annually based on total annual organizational budget.
